EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
What is EFT?
EFT is a powerful stress relief technique. Commonly known as "tapping", it is often referred to as "psychological acupuncture" because it uses two finger tapping process alongside personalised elements of cognitive therapy.
Founder Gary Craig once wrote: "The cause of negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system".
EFT is particularly effective because it dissolves the frozen energy patterns by identifying the core beliefs created by unprocessed memories, small and big trauma and re-establishes balance, flow and the freedom to live a more harmonious life.

How it works
During a Tapping session, you focus on whatever may be causing you stress or discomfort while at the same time gently tapping with your fingers on a specific set of points on the body.
These points, correspond to traditional Chinese medicine acupressure points found along the body’s meridians.
Tapping on these points sends calming signals to the brain, letting it know that it is safe to relax.
It helps to turn down the brain’s stress response so that you can let go of your stress and find more balance, calm, and ease as you move forward.

Research
In the last 20 years EFT has been validated in many research studies as a safe, rapid, reliable and effective treatment for both psychological and medical diagnoses.
It appears to positively affect the amygdala (the stress centre in the brain) and the hippocampus (memory centre) and both play a significant role in any decision process.
Studies have shown that it significantly decreases cortisol levels (stress hormone) and improves our immune functioning.
